Mahendra Singh Dhoni most commonly known by MS Dhoni is an Indian cricketer and one of the most successful captains of the Indian National Cricket Team. MS Dhoni is a right handed batsman and wicket keeper. He made his One Day International debut in 2004 against Bangladesh and his Test Cricket debut in 2005 against Sri Lanka. He is the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team in all three forms of the game. Under his captaincy, India won the ICC Twenty 20 World Cup in 2007 and ICC ODI World Cup in 2011. His ODI and Test record is best among all the Indian captains to date.
MS Dhoni has won many awards including the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and the Padma Shri award, India’s fourth highest civilian honor in 2009. He was also named as the captain of ICC World Test and ICC ODI teams for 2009. The same year, he has topped the list of world’s top 10 earning cricketers. He got his name listed in the list of 100 most influential people of 2011 by Times Magazine. Dhoni studied at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali at Ranchi in Jharkhand. He also plays in Indian Premier League. The Territorial Army conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Dhoni in 2011. He is the second Indian cricketer to receive this honor.
