Technical term for this illusion generated by these photos is called the “Droste Effect” which is named after a 1904 package of Droste brand cocoa. Photos here showing the Droste effect depicts a smaller version of the same photo in a place where similar picture would realistically be expected to appear. This smaller version then depicts an even smaller version of itself in the same place and then it goes on and on.
