Garfield: Comic Strip on Lazy Cat

Garfield is a cartoon character created by Jim Davis which chronicles the life of title character, the cat Garfield. Garfield lives with his owner and his dog in a detached 2 storey house. Common themes in the strip include Garfield’s laziness, obsessive eating, hatred of Mondays and diets. The plot is focused mostly on the interactions among Garfield, his owner and owner’s dog; recurring minor characters appear as well. Part of the strip’s broad appeal is due to its lack of social or political commentary.

As of 2007, it was allied in approximate 2,580 newspapers and journals, and held the Guinness World Record for being the world’s most widely syndicated comic strip. The Garfield Show is an international animated television series that premiered in US on Cartoon Network.
