Chandrashekhar Azad was one of the most important and a leading Indian revolutionary, who reorganized the Hindustan Republic Association. He was a chief strategy maker of Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. He was a mentor of many freedom fighters.
He wanted to build a new India based on socialist principles and morals. He was an armed revolutionary. After the first Indian Rebellion of 1857, he was one amongst the many Indian revolutionaries to use arms in their fight for independence against the British rulers. Chandrashekhar Azad is an icon to the Indians today.
