What is Shavuot?

Shavuot is one of the three major Jewish Biblical pilgrimage festivals, in which Jews travel to Temple in Jerusalem to bring their first fruits. Shavuot is exactly 50 days after Passover. It’s also sometimes mentioned as Feast of Weeks. Jews who speak Greek gave the name Pentecost to this festival, as it occurs fifty days after Passover.
