What is Purim?

Purim is most colorful and cheerful of all the Jewish holidays. The holiday is celebrated in the honor of Jews’ victory over oppression, recounted in detail in the “Esther Megillah”.

Purim in 2011 is on Sunday, 20th of March continuing for 2 days till 21st March, Monday. In Jewish calendar, holiday begins from the sunset of the previous day, so Jews will celebrate Purim on the sunset of Saturday, 19th of March.
