What is Lag Baomer?
Between Passover and Shavuot fifty days are counted which should be the days of preparation and joy on receiving of the Torah, get turned into the days of semi-mourning. No music, weddings nor hair-cuts are allowed in these days, this count is called Sefirat Ha’Omer. And on the 33 day of this count, the 18th day of the Hebrew month Iyar, Lag Ba’Omer is celebrated. In the Jewish tradition this is the most mysterious holiday.
