What is Anant Chaturdashi?
Anant Chaturdashi has two main significances. First, it is the day of the immersion of Ganpati well known as Ganapati Visarjan which is the end of the festival of Ganpati and the Murtis’ of Lord Ganpati are taken to river to immersed in waters with a great processions. Second, on this day people recite and listen to the stories of God Vishnu and the infinite and recite hymns from the Vedas also known as Ananta Vrat.
