Speedy Singhs is a sports-comedy 2011 movie directed by Robert Lieberman and well produced by Paul Gross & India’s most popular actor Akshay Kumar. The film has been shoot in inner city Toronto and is about a young man struggling between traditional Indo-Canadian family expectations and his lifetime aspiration to become hockey stardom.
The film stars a NRI boy Rajveer Singh (Vinay Virmani) who dreams to make big in ice-hockey field in Canada. His Sikh father Darvesh Singh (Anupam Kher) who completely disapproves his love and devotion towards sports and wants him to settle down his life with a secure job. However the boy has a group of supercilious champions who consider Indians as ordinary snake-charmers. On other side failed coach Dan Winters (Rob Lowe) wants to show his true potential to world whenever he finds second opportunity in his life. Moreover coach’s sister Melissa Winters (Camilla Belle) appears to be ideal heroine for having mandatory romance with hero Rajveer Singh. Rajveer’s family is busy by taking part in amidst events of traditional Punjabi wedding while on other side he keeps on playing ice-hockey for Speedy Singhs team by keeping his father unheard about his acts.
Eventually Darvesh Singh makes an entry in the stadium while his final match was going on. Nevertheless for having happy ending to the movie Speedy Singhs win final match by champions.
