Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai at Padma Shri Awards

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and actress Aishwarya Rai have been honoured with the Padma Shri Award from Indian President Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil. This award is the fourth highest civilian honour in the country by the Government of India.

Both Akshay and Aishwary were honoured with this award for their contribution in the field of films. The announcement came as a surprise to Akshay and Aishwarya.
