Aishwarya Rai is an Indian film actress. She worked as a model before starting her acting career, and eventually won the Miss World spectacle in 1994.
She was born into a Telugu speaking bunt family in Mangalore, Karnataka. Her father, Krishnaraj was a marine biologist, while her mother Brindya is a housewife. She has one elder brother, Aditya Rai who is an engineer in the merchant navy.
