Food and mood goes parallel. It is hard to believe, but is very true that some foods can get you out of your boring, depressive and angry mood and wakes you up giving you refreshment and healthy living. Foods can change your mood, because emotions in us are nothing but just the chemical reactions and whatsoever affect these reactions can affect your mood. Food changes the chemistry of your brain and affects your emotions. Once, you know the foods to improve mood either it is depression, annoyance, sleepy behavior, etc. you can help yourself to live a healthier and happier life.

Good food gives you hope and you just need to know the connection between the food you eat and your mood levels. After knowing the foods to improve mood you can know the alertness of your brain functions.

Foods to Cure Depression

Eating habits directly affects your mood. Depression is a health disorder faced by many today and eating healthy food for depression can helps a lot for not getting the problem back.

1. Tuna

Depression is caused due to lack of chemical named B6. Tuna supplies around 60 to 70 percent of your daily diet of B6. Although, it is unlikely to include tuna in your daily routine diet, you can include in once or twice a week.

2. Dark Chocolate

Almost every age group loves to eat chocolate, but not every chocolate can help you in depression. To cure the disorder you must know the right food for depression. Go for dark chocolate, it releases pleasure enhancing endorphins into brain and contains phenyl ethylamine. Higher the cocoa content, better you feel.

3. Walnuts

An excellent source of Omega-3S helps brain cells and mood lifting neurotransmitters function properly. Nuts are the best to bring back the smile on your face.

4. Brown Rice

Good source of vitamins B1, B3 and folic acid, low-glycemic food releases glucose into bloodstream preventing mood swings, best considered as food for depression. Also provides minerals for proper functioning of brain and its high-fiber quality keeps the digestive system intact and lower cholesterol.

Foods to Wake You Up

Sometimes we all get into the mood of not working, no exercise, feels bore about almost everything around us. Besides we know what is it going to cost us if we don’t wake up and change our attitude towards our responsibility. At time you need to eat food to wake you up and get back into action.

1. Lemons

It’s an instant refresher. Wake up and smell the fruit or lemon oil or have a glass of lemon water will bring you back refreshing stage. It also helps in curing liver stimulation.

2. Apples

Apple a day keeps the doctor away and keeps you awake as well. Apples protect brain from memory loss due to their quercetin content. Fructose content of apple doesn’t push you back to slump like caffeine hot drinks.

3. Broccoli

The best food to wake you up if consumed in daily diet, it is responsible for co-ordination, attention and short-term memory. Rich in boron also helps maintaining blood sugar levels and healthy bones.

4. Whole Grains

They are complex carbohydrates with larger molecules helps body longer to digest and turning into glucose. They have slow energy release features continue to provide energy to body. Best food to wake you up providing sustained energy source.

These foods to improve mood works great if consumed in regular diet or weekly diet. Lift your mood with them and stay happy and healthy.
